Respite Program

Sometimes we all need a break. And yeah, we get it, being the caretaker for someone who is neurodiverse can be a lot of work. Don’t worry about it, we will take care of everything. At a rate of $12 per hour, we are more than happy to take care of your neurodiverse loved one while you take a respite to breathe. Our next respite will be located at Wesley United Methodist, one of a few church communities that have graciously agreed to let us set up shop and get things rolling. Fill out the form below and we will contact you with times and dates for the respite.
Address: 3551 US-61, Festus, MO 63028
Dates and Time: August 13 from 10 am-2 pm
BUT ISN’T THIS JUST BABYSITTING?
This is more than that. When your loved one is part of the respite center, they will be assisted by our staff who are trained in CPR, first aid, and seizure management. They will be joining a community of other neurodiverse individuals. They will be welcomed whether they are 13 or 30. And they will have access to amenities such as a sensory-friendly quiet room and, of course, will be able to join the fun of Club Little House.
I’m just not sure i can afford it
Don’t worry. We will help you. We know of several ways to get subsidies and financial support. For example, did you know that the MO Department of Mental Health can refer your loved one for respite funding that is designed for people with various developmental disabilities? We did. And we’re more than happy to help direct you to the right resources.
but what does one do while at respite care?
We will provide activities to participate in, both individually and in groups. We will have board/card games, movies, social spaces, and a quiet/sensory friendly room. We will also provide snacks.
so who exactly is this for?
This is for neurodiverse people, typically those with difficult diagnoses to manage, from 2 years old to adults.
